Kroombit Tops National Park preserves an elevated sandstone plateau draped in rainforest, wet sclerophyll forest, and dramatic escarpments.
Four-wheel-drive tracks connect lookouts, waterfalls, and the wreckage of “Beautiful Betsy”, a WWII Liberator bomber discovered in 1994.

Getting there
- Access Kroombit Tops via the Burnett Highway north of Monto or through the Boyne Valley from Ubobo. High-clearance 4WD is essential.
- Allow at least two hours from Monto to the main picnic area. Roads become impassable after heavy rain.
Need to know
- Carry recovery gear, extra fuel, and plenty of water—services are not available inside the park.
- Inform someone of your itinerary and travel in convoy where possible.
- Camping permits are required for Razorback, Griffiths Creek, and The Wallaby campgrounds.
